I admit, I don't always know what my dog wants. In this picture, she seems quite intent on telling us something, but I'm not sure what.

I'm no dog expert, but that kinda looks like, "I'm constipated, help!"
Did you take this while you were baking those luscious cupcakes? If so, then I think she's saying, "Gimmie that cupcake, puh-leeze!!!!"
SO took this picture soon after giving her some bacon. I think this look is, "Please, sir, I want some more." With a healthy dose of, "If I sit really still and give him my undivided attention, he'll think I'm a good dog and give me bacon!"
And who knows, LL, maybe despite her love for bacon, she does not digest it well.
Several years ago my cat ingested a whole lot of bacon fat (from the tray that you put at the edge of a George Foreman grill) and after puking up a lot of it, he kinda hung out making this percolating noise and looking really unhappy.
I can see how the look could be interpreted as one of longing, too, but there's a bit of a flare in her nostrils that suggests something else to me. Maybe you should consider a pet psychic.
