In the past, when I've had these horrible work deadlines, I've had someone to bring me food. To make sure I went to bed at a reasonable hour. To give me some human contact, even when I keep myself locked at home for days at a time.
I really miss that.

Knuckle down and get the job done. This is why they should have included the lesson "real lawyers eat fast food" in law school.
Many of your sister and brother attorneys (like this civil litigator in California) have all been there. You have our sympathies and reminders that three fingers of well-earned Scotch await you at job's end.
I know. I always get these briefs done; I just always get them done in a way that's as unhealthy as possible. I think it's just not possible to commit the final product to paper and actually file it without tweaking it and stewing it until the very end.
And, yes, fast food is the key. Pizza Shuttle is my favorite because they'll give me 2 pizzas and 2 drinks for $11.25. That'll keep me going for a couple of days.
I'll have a drink for you tonight (not like I need an excuse). Hang in there and sorry you're going through a rough patch!
Thanks! (I'm having a drink for me, too.) I had a great epiphany today, though, taking the major issue in my case in a new and exciting direction that not many people would have thought to try. So I'm feeling pleasantly energized tonight. I would still rather be at my regular Tuesday night knitting club, but I'll take feeling jazzed about an issue.
