DADT update
There's some movement in the effort to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." The Senate Armed Services Committee will hold hearings in the fall. With supporters in Congress, I hope it won't take the president too much longer to find his way towards ending this discriminatory policy. You did promise, Sir.

The fact that DADT is still in effect is truly a testament to how far we still need to come before we can call ourselves an unprejudiced society.
It's a great disappointment to me as well that President Obama hasn't moved forward more quickly on this. Gay marriage is one thing, but to allow the idea that gays are a threat to the military, continue... that's just downright frustrating.
